Amy Trewella, MD
Dr. Amy Trewella was born and raised in the San Diego area. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Whittier College in California.
Dr. Trewella received her medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2005 with a scholarship from the U.S. Navy, and completed both her internship and residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. She continued to serve in the Navy for a total of 7 years, stationed in Florida, Bahrain, and Hawaii, before returning to her home — San Diego — in 2012. She has been practicing primary care and urgent care in the San Diego area since then.
She enjoys seeing families and multiple generations in her practice and has a special interest in taking care of Veterans, Women’s health, and helping families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In her free time, Dr. Trewella enjoys spending time with her two elementary age children, is active in her church playing in the Handbell choir and volunteering in Sunday School, is involved with Girl Scouts as a leader for her daughter’s troop, and enjoys cooking.
