Male health
Over the past 50 years, the average life expectancy for men has increased to approximately 75 years. While this is a positive improvement, men are still more likely to avoid a visit to the doctor and to ignore unusual symptoms which could be a sign of a serious health issue. It’s important that men be more vigilant about the health issues that affect them.
Dr. Salada provides routine screening and examinations specifically geared towards men’s health issues, including the following:
Prostate Screening
Two tests commonly used to screen for prostate cancer are the digital rectal exam and the prostate specific antigen or PSA test.
Testicular Exams
A testicular exam involves a complete physical exam of the groin and genitals in order to detect any lumps, swelling, or shrinking of the testicles.
Sports-Related Physicals
The goal of the sports-related physical is to determine the overall health of the athlete, including his current fitness level, to detect any conditions that could cause injuries, and to evaluate any existing injuries.
