Urgent care

Note: If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

Illness and injury are never planned events. Where do you go when you suddenly become sick or hurt?

CALL US FIRST AT 858-312-5492 and we can help decide the best course of action for your immediate needs. We are here for you 24/7.

Your primary care doctor is the best place to start when you’re sick or injured. The doctor knows your history and can make informed decisions about your symptoms and treatment. Often the office will be able to accommodate you the same day for urgent issues.

Urgent care centers do provide medical treatment for a wide variety of injuries and illnesses but they cannot replace the relationship you have with your primary care physician. However, if it is after regular office hours, urgent care may be an option when you need immediate, but not life-threatening, medical attention.

CVS Minute Clinic and Palomar Health Expressions are after-hours facilities that you can go to for a variety of urgent issues, such as:

  • Sore throats
  • Coughs and colds
  • Earaches
  • Sinus infections and congestion
  • Pink eye
  • Bladder infections
  • Rashes
  • Minor cuts, blisters and wounds
  • Minor burns
  • Sprains and strains
  • Vaccines

To help direct you to the right place, whether it’s the office or an urgent care, you can call Dr. Salada. She can determine the best way to address your medical condition.

Symptoms that are best evaluated in an emergency room include, but are not limited to:

  • Persistent chest pain, especially if the pain radiates to your arm or jaw
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Sudden loss of balance or fainting
  • Sudden difficulty in speaking or slurred speech
  • Sudden weakness, especially on one side of the face or body
  • Broken bones
  • Head or eye injuries
  • Deep cuts
  • Seizures

If you believe that a delay in treatment could endanger your health, call 911.
